Prying Eyes

Prying Eyes

A Chapter by Lassian Willow
"

There is always two sides to a story...........

"
Sweat poured off my face as I stared blankly at the mirror. A dark figure just emerged from the shadow's in the principal's office and I just ran. My thoughts flew back to the dreadful night of April 16th 2006, I woke up to a scream and a loud pounding at the front door. It was my uncle's turn to baby-sit me. I ran down the stairs and saw my uncle hiding behind the curtains. I opened the front door and saw a man dressed all in black. I moved out of his way and he welcomed himself into the house. He pulled a gun out of his pocket and pointed it at my Uncle. I heard a scream before the door slammed shut. My thoughts were disrupted by the sudden sound of the bathroom door opening.
Before starting down the hall, I quickly pulled into my locker. I opened it and a note flew out. Someone started reading out loud behind my back.
"Emma Daniels, Please see Principal Roy for a urgent meeting ASAP"
I hesitantly turned around before slowly letting my breath out. It was only Ashley.
"I need to talk to you"
I Quickly led her away from the crowd and pulled her into the janitor's closet.
"Do you remember the story about my uncle and..." my voiced slowly started to get softer.
"Yeah... I do"
"You know how I said that I saw a pair of eyes looking at the whole scene"
yeah"
"Well, I kinda didn't tell you about everything"
"What do you mean, You didn't really tell you everything"
"Well umm... well, after the stranger left, I kinda invited the girl in"
"and...."
"and she introduced herself, her name was Jacie Monty"
"I still don't get it"
I explained everything about the meeting with the principal and the face and everything.
"So what your saying is that the same person who saw the accident of your Uncle's death is also enrolled at your school"
"Yeah"
"and she also threatened to tell everyone about it"
Tears started trickling down my cheek.
"It's all my fault, It's all my Fault
"No it's not, it was an accident"
"But I shouldn't of opened the door"
No matter what Ashley says, I am the reason my uncle died and I am not going to let myself forget it. Ever.
My uncle's death was the highlight of every news report, newspaper and police investigation. Everyone knew the door was locked and all the windows were barred. All anyone wanted to know was how the killer was let into the house and if they found out it was me my life would be ruined.
Jacie knows it is all my fault that my Uncle died and one way or another I am going to find a way to hurt her before anyone finds out.
