The skin I'm inA Poem by Heather
Who I am
Lies in lines on My fingertips Wraps my arms and Stretches Round my Elbow Up, up, up Over my shoulders There's a scar on one. I don't remember Now How I got it Yet, there it is Smiling like a Piece of time. I could count the spots That speckle my Existence Like unblinking eyes One, two Three I lost count Thinking of a Meta Four... I am a label With no name Only white wrapping Invisibility's color You can't see me If I'm see through. I am My own reflection I see poetry On my skin These lines say something: "Life can callous you If you let it." Slough It off Peel it away You'll see Me; I'm in this skin But I've never been more free. © 2020 HeatherReviews
