Sun Modifies Dream

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise

Sun Modifies Dream

Scorching flames of desires of the pantheon lick the wax
Engulfing and burning the scarred skin to gray ash
Eyes dry as the spirit modifies the torn spirit
Keep safe at all costs the heart and the soul
Even, as yet again the vapors solidify
Reaching every corner of the cosmos

Icarus escaped the labyrinth with his wings
Seeking for what no one understood

Down plunges the broken body below the waters
Emerging reborn above the surface like the phoenix
Alive is the warrior as he comes ashore the ashes fall
Desires of the poet override that of the pantheon's

As always, I love the description in you poetry. I can feel the words as I read them. I think this poem is about reaching for the visions of what we see despite what others, the 'pantheon', say we can and can't do. They do not see what we can see, and even if we do not reach the heights of our vision, yet we are reborn in the ashes of our fall. We triumph despite it all.
