The EndlessA Poem by H.L. CerveiseThe Endless
It must end This body can stand no more My heart's tearing my soul from my mind I want to write of happiness Of love and joy But impossible it be when darkness be my only friend I feel only pain and my heart bleeds Death would not end the sorrow It must end
In three short years it has come I sold God in the market place of man The money looked good but has now tarnished I numbed my mind with the many truths of this world But the truths have become lies I gave my body for love But now I am wanted not
I have nothing left to sell or give A worthless shell remains to haunt me Oh that the winds of torment would destroy the broken pieces But the gods of this world seek their revenge
