Either or Both?

Either or Both?

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise

Either or Both

My face to the dark murky sky

Soft small sweet tears from heaven

Fall upon my closed eyes

My skin sucks them in

A gentle breeze caresses me

My feet planted in the cold ground

They are like lead sinking into hell

Yet my head is high in the heavens

My heart torn between the two

Do I deserve either or both?

The songs in my ears melt me

Melodies of sorrow and joy

They drag me to hell

Yet others lift me to heaven

Do I deserve either or both?

Now I silence the songs

Only the ringing in my ears I hear

I float above hell and its heat

Comfortable heaven floats above me

Do I deserve either or both?

Heaven and hell
We all ask this question everyday
whether it be the heaven or hell we live in

I really like the way you structure your poems
serves well to the balance of silence to words
