Simple Laughter

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise
"

Just a simple haiku that came to me when I heard the unaffected sweet laughter of a child.

Simple Laughter
Laughter of a child
So innocent and so pure
When do we lose that

Thank you for reading and reviewing this writing. I admit it made me smile in a innocent pleasure.
I don't think I have ever read such a powerful haiku... normally I'm not such a fan of haikus because they end too quickly and can't develop something enough but dang, the last line hit me and I have no answer. I wish that I could laugh like I used to, but at some point we do lose that innocence and there is no going back. I like the second haiku on this page though, very clever ;)

Nice and simple. I enjoyed it. I love hearing a child's laughter; it's just the sweetest thing ever to see a kid happy. Great work.
