Just a simple haiku that came to me when I heard the unaffected sweet laughter of a child.

Laughter of a child

So innocent and so pure

When do we lose that

I don't think I have ever read such a powerful haiku... normally I'm not such a fan of haikus because they end too quickly and can't develop something enough but dang, the last line hit me and I have no answer. I wish that I could laugh like I used to, but at some point we do lose that innocence and there is no going back. I like the second haiku on this page though, very clever ;)

Writing longer poems is still my favorite thing to do; however, a lot of things in life hit me that I feel few words are needed to show what I am trying to convey. Of course as you saw, I just had to say more and did it as a haiku in the author's note. I am so glad you liked it.
