The Dock

The Dock

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise

The Dock

Here I sit at the end of the weather worn, and time tested dock.
I look out upon the rippling waters the water weary shore behind me.
Leisurely small ripples flash in the bright moon light.
Like a thousand stars across the sky, I watch the lake surface mesmerized.
A strong wave makes a loud slapping noise as it hits the shoreline.
Realizing like me the dock exists between two worlds. I wonder?
Does it link them or feel the pressure of them pulling it apart?
