Random Thoughts of the Day by Legion 5/27/16

This needs some explaining. In one virtual world I belong to, I post "Random Thoughts of the Day by Legion. This is one of them and for those who follow what I have written you know Legion is me.

Chao-chou asked Nan-quan: "What Is the Way?"

"Ordinarily mind is the Way," Non-Quan answered.

"Should I turn toward it or not?"

"If you turn toward it, you turn away from it."

"But how can I know the way if I don't turn toward it?" Chao-chou asked.

 

"The way is not about knowing or not knowing.  When you know something you are not deluded, and when you don't know, you are just mindless.  When you reach the way beyond doubt, it is infinite as space.  It's neither right nor wrong."

With these words, Chow-Chu had a sudden enlightenment.  Zen Mondo
