Fragments of Darkness

Fragments of Darkness

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise

Fragments of Darkness

Darkness the blackness of absolute nothingness,

A pulsating total all consuming terrible black that has,

No stars to pierce through the void.

No sun to warm.

No light to guide.

Stars? Sun?

Suddenly, a stab of intense pain,

Again, the pain comes.

Pulsing quicker and faster the cruel pain becomes unbearable.

To scream out in pain!

Scream?? Pain??

Painful blaring sound,

Voices surround,

Voices of people,

Loud voices, confusing voices,

Sound??? Voices??? People???

Piercing harsh white light,

Colors swirl in uncontrolled chaos.

The colors merge into unexplainable patterns.

Strange hues come and go.

Light???? Color????

Cold strikes

Painfully freezing cold

Cold changes to unbearable heat

Sweltering melting burning heat

Cold????? Heat?????

Memories

Strange unfamiliar memories

Memories of - me?

What am I?

Am I pain?

NO!

Then I must be sound or light?

And if not I must be cold or heat?

No I am none of these.

What am I??????

Cold, heat, light, sound

Then suddenly terrible inhuman pain

What am I???????

Nothing???????

NOTHING PLEASE!!!!!!!

Amazing use of words and thoughts.
"Cold, heat, light, sound

What am I???????
Nothing???????
NOTHING PLEASE!!!!!!!"
I liked how you led to the above outstanding ending. A wild ride in your words. I liked it.
