Forgotten

Forgotten

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise

Forgotten

Alone and cold I stand,

Forgotten not once but twice,

Blackness engulfs my heart.

My eyes swim in salty waters.

Sore be my body from the pain.

I scream, death to this world and every damn thing in it.

Love exists but eludes my lonely grasp.

Hope in all his fatness sits laughing.

Happiness jeers at my sad heart.

I am that toy,

The little god plays the game with.

Sadness gladly holds my hand.

Loneliness shuns me not.

Pain tightens her grasp around my body.

Night embraces me with her cold arms.

The little devil rolls the bloody dice.

Forgotten is the drop from the cup of this world.

"Sadness gladly holds my hand"- my favourite lines from your work. This is a pretty good melancholy with powerful words. Life is cruel, so is time, they can turn the coin of one's life upside down in just one moment and make the person dismal and despondent. Well-written. Keep writing.
