A Morning

A Morning

A Story by H.L. Cerveise

The morning sun starts to brighten the bedroom with a soft light; I wake with you snuggled tight with me; I feel you breathing softly and deeply as I feel your naked warmth. I gently caress your upper arm, and you stir against me; you roll over, and your eyes look into mine. I look deeply into your eyes and see your love for me.

“I love that our first thoughts in the morning are the same as our last thoughts at night.” I say, and you smile at me knowing what I mean. Our moment of quiet repose is suddenly interrupted by whining noises, one on your side of the bed the other on mine.

“We should get out of bed and feed them and take them for a walk; they have been very patient with us, you know.” You say as you slip out from under the covers, and I gaze at your naked body as you move away from the bed. I watch as you slip on some sexy underwear and jeans and a blouse that really hugs tightly against your ample breasts. I sigh and reluctantly get out of bed, fumblingly around awkwardly in morning grogginess I put on the jeans and shirt I want for our morning walk. We feed the dogs and outside; we go. We take them to the field across the road and let them off their leases, so they can run free and fast.

“They are beautiful together.” You say as we watch them running after the squirrels, the birds and even the occasional butterfly.

“They are a pair meant for each other, just like us.” I say as I smile and draw you closer to me as we stand there watching them.

We slowly walk through the field with the dogs running and playing but always looking back at us to make sure they are not too far away because they know they should not wonder to far. Suddenly, the dogs spot a deer and start to run after them.

“OISIN, NIAMH STOP” we both shout in unionize, and reluctantly, both dogs stop.
