Dancing DungeonA Poem by Hannah FlynnThe tragic side of Cinderella's marvelous trip to the ball. Inspired by AdarkMay's story entitled "Midnight". Enjoy the twist!
Outside she hears the doomed clock's chime
She frantically whispers, "I'm out of time!" Running, running, running; it's all she can do To escape the fate of evil times two She trips over herself; that pretty white slipper It stays behind, she discovers with a whimper That dark-eyed Prince Charming sees all but the shoe But she knows the truth and goes on with virtue Darling Cinderella, she does knows the truth She knows if she stays, her mind will go POOF All she'll do anymore, to say, Is dance her feet off in a most peculiar way You see, in the Prince's lavish ball of dance That's all the trapped people do- they prance They can't help it; they're under a spell But even they can no longer tell Cinderella, however, knows what goes She never wants to enter its woes Her pale blonde hair trails behind her As she escapes the dungeon that will remember © 2011 Hannah FlynnAuthor's Note
