Shecherezada

Shecherezada

A Poem by Haim Kadman
"

An episode

"

Shecherezada

was a bit worried.

'…and from that

night of bliss…'

She went on,

quite perturbed;

'they didn't part,

and lived happily

together.'

She ended it up,

watching

the Sultan's face.

with a forced smile.

'I don't like happy ends!'

The Sultan declared

decisively,

and looking back

to one of his bodyguards,

he blurted out:

'Chop her head off!'
