A detailed synopsis plus an opening short excerpt of my fourth book, a novel titled “Summer Tempest”.

"

After some fifteen minutes of yawning out of boredom, in mid scene a horrendous sight appeared all over the screen; it was a live broadcast of a terrorist attack in broad day light, and the sights were sickening. Where the attack was taking place she could not know or identify its exact location, but hardly a few seconds passed and a commentator repeated the entire horrendous incident details: a car bomb exploded in the town of Hedera, some fifty miles northward.

'God almighty, why have I come for, have I lost my mind?' She uttered quite loudly in Hebrew and without switching off the TV set she left the bed, and hurried to her suite's living room, to watch the broadcast on the bigger TV set.

She sat tensed and bewildered in one of the armchairs, watching the evacuation of the corpses, the wounded covered with blood and dust; as the obscured street and the destruction has terrified and shocked her. While holding the remote control with a shaking hand, she had a terrible urge to switch off the TV set, but was not able to detach herself from the horrific sights.

There was a certain update by the state department, warning U.S. citizens to stay away and not visit the Middle East, Erella remembered all of a sudden. Mike has told her about it, when she offered him to visit Israel together. He did not object at first, but when the time came he sent her on her own.

Synopsis
The plot of this novel’s background is the era of the late 90s up to the beginning of the current century.

It's the era of hope for peace following the peace agreement between the State of Israel and the PLO organization that was signed in the year 1993, and the disillusion and despair that followed from 1995 on; with the outburst of the disturbances and the terror attacks by the PLO, the partner of the 1993 peace process; or the Oslo Accorrd as it was termed on the White House lawn, where it was solemnly agreed and signed upon.
The two novel’s protagonists are Yoske (Joseph) Solan and Erella Zingman Abrahams, both of them and their relatives and their close friends represent the generation that was born at about the time of the State of Israel war of Independence during the late 40s, and up to the beginning of the 50s of the previous century.
Both the novel’s protagonists are married, while during their youthful years they were in a romantic relationship.

Erella is married to an American Jewish tycoon and lives in New York City, while Yoske is married to Erella’s best friend Nehama ; he and Nehama live in Tel Aviv and own a pastry shop in the famous Allenby Street.

Erella lands in Ben-Gurion airport near Tel Aviv, in the midst of this stormy era to visit her relatives, and with the hope to renew her romantic relationship with Yoske her old flame.
This novel includes 206 pages and 124,212 words
