entire cabinet members were already assembled in His Holy Highness office waiting
for His Holy Highness arrival as Rohanei and Zarif entered, while Jahangiri
went to look for His Holy Highness to inform him of the delegation remnants'
arrival. 'So here
you're at last,' His Holy Highness said while moving to his seat screening
meanwhile all the cabinet ministers standing in a mute ovation in his honor. 'Do sit
down,' he muttered after he was seated in his throne like comfortable seat. 'We've learned your trials over there in general details, what we'd
like to know is the behavior of those with whom you've had the few meetings. I
mean their vice president and president, plus the reactions of their
secretaries and advisers if there were any? Yes Hassan I'm listening!' He
ordered Rohanei with a note of intrigued impatience. 'Your Holy Highness, dear colleagues,' Rohanei opened up and
cleared his throat with some embarrassment. He did not expect to be asked to
describe the delegation's poor results at that early stage. 'We've been welcomed, received and treated rather rudely. At
first we referred to it as to coincidental circumstances due to the hectic
presidential election campaigns, but after the first meeting with their vice
president we realized that it was premeditated. When we learned that our next
meeting would be again with their vice president, I asked our loyal and
competent foreign affairs minister to represent us. While visiting Capitol Hill
we realized that we won't be able to bring forth our case before the senators,
they avoided us afraid to assist or to be identified as assisting the president
in mid of the election campaign; so with Your Holy Highness approval I've
ordered the delegation main body to fly back home… When I realized how arrogant
and indifferent their president is towards us despite his colossal failures,
I've decided to cut short our stay there.' He made a short pause wondering if
he will be allowed to continue, but to his surprise his audience was eager to hear
more, including His Holy Highness. With a quick decision due to his sharp
intuition Rohanei passed into more encouraging descriptive lines. 'What puzzled me at first was the fact that neither the
president nor any of his entourage mentioned the drone case, not even in some
association or a hint. I believe that we managed to put them under increased
pressure, particularly by my absence during the second and last meeting with
their president, and when our foreign affairs minister walked out with his aides
in mid meeting without taking formally his leave from the American and his
advisers…' This would suffice I believe, Rohanei concluded relieved. While
the only one that seems unsatisfied or even hostile if I'm not wrong is Qasem.
Rohanei thought perturbed while quenching his thirst with a few drops of water.
He won't dare to say a word in my presence, but he'll
criticize me behind my back the venomous snake that he is. 'Thanks Hassan you've cleared the picture to us.' His Holy
Highness summed up Rohanei monologue. 'We must change our plans according to the new situation;
I'll hear your views and we'll start with you Qasem.' Whenever His Holy Highness asked Qasem to express his
opinion, no other member dared to add whatever he thought, after the defense
minister had his say. 'Your Holy Highness and dear colleagues in my opinion we
should increase our operational activities against the American flotilla, and
threaten to block the Hormuz straights…' Although the cabinet ministers were used to Qasem's
belligerent announcements in more peaceful circumstances when there was no need
to implement harsher threats than the usual tactics, but this time they knew
that he means it and asks His Holy Highness's approval. © Haim Kadman 2016 " all rights reserved. The
