excerpt On his way to the embassy and his office at the next morning, and
right after he sat next to his desk; he kept pondring how he is going to put an
end to his short love affair with Zivit Degani, he could not find a solution to
this certain problem after he himself has planed the entire affair; and her
demand to return to Addis was his idea after all, so how is he going to solve
it and get rid of her? He was not in love with her, it was just her young and
well shaped body that attracted him, and the feeling of elation of having an
affair with another man's wife. He knew he must consult Josh about it, but he
had no idea how to introduce the problem to the delegation's head. Hardly five minutes passed since he entered his office and Edna his
secretary entered barging into his thought, and put down on his desk before him
a batch of documents, which has arrived with the diplomatic mail. The most significant one was an order to assign one of the team
leaders as a contact man with the Falasha Jews in Gondar, at the northern part
of Ethiopia near lake Tana. The pretext would be the usual one, to prepare the ground for
training the Ethiopian army troops at that part of Ethiopia. That's the solution to my problem, Roghel thought with exultation
and called Josh in his office, he knew that Josh does not leave his office
before noontime. 'Hello Josh how are you this morning?' Without waiting for the
delegation's head answer he went straight on. 'Listen Josh I need your advice urgently, drop everything and come
over.' Again he did not wait to Josh answer, and returned the receiver to its
cradle. When Josh entered Roghel's office the military attaché was writing.
'Sit down please Josh,' Roghel surprised his colleague with unsual
politeness. 'Thanks Erez and what is it all about, what's the sudden urgency?' 'We received an order this very morning to send a delegation
member, one of our teams' heads in fact to Gondar. The idea is to prepare the
ground for another training base over there, and at the same time get in contact
with the Flasha Jewish community.' 'Are they sending someone?' 'No Josh we've to assign one of our teams' heads.' 'Well I believe that major Yaniv would be the right choice, Daphnie
can run the last course in Jijiga without him.' Josh teased him inirectly but
kept watching the military attaché with stern gaze. 'No Josh no, even if that red beret is capable to run the course as
you tend to believe, major Yaniv is very unpopular among the locals; I intend
to send him back home at the end of his third year term, which is a couple of
months after the end of the course that he's running. Do you've any other
suggestion?' 'Well how about young Degani, Oron can replace him with ease; after
all he's the one that ran the prvious courses in Jijiga.' Josh added sure that
he did tease Roghel a second time, he knew like many delegation members all
about Roghel's affair with Zivit Degani. 'Oh yes Josh I haven't thought of him, okay he's our choice then,
and I'll send a request for a meeting at the ground forces headquarters for
both us.' Roghel summed up the short discussion and the surprsing solution to
his personal problem with satisfaction. © Haim Kadman 2016 " all rights reserved. The 19 thrillers and novels that
