It got high enough to dispel the haze

It got high enough to dispel the haze

A Poem by hjcm

The sun in spring was up before me

and the first water of the day

from the shower

hit my body in stripes. All I’m thinking of

is you.

I’m hungry for veggie chilli and nachos

with homemade guacamole. My avocados

are ripening next to the sunflowers

on my windowsill. I feel better

and the sun came up anyway.

About
shower poetry: poetry that comes to you in the shower, or whilst doing something similarly mundane. It is short, mostly unedited, and a little bit shoddy. more..
