Not what it seems

Not what it seems

A Poem by hjcm

The washing-up liquid is purple and has a purple

smell and orange, cinnamon, and mango tea has

a purple colour but an orange taste.

And they say, “Well, you just don’t get it.

That’s not what it’s about today.

You think you’re a victim but your kind

lap it up.” And they tell me what I should want.

They’re just bricks in bathwater

but people will think that they float anyway.

Maybe I have too high an opinion of myself.
