I Really Do Wonder

I Really Do Wonder

A Poem by H.I.

I really do wonder

Are you a promise I could to, surrender?

Or are you just like a passing thunder

When the sun comes shining we would just sunder

I really do wonder

I wonder if we were alive in a night

Would you be the darkness or the light?

Would you be a star or the one who makes them bright?

Would you be sulking in a corner or the one who lives the night?

I really do wonder

I wonder if you are like a wind or a lake

Unpredictable or like a life without stake

Traveling every mountain without break

Or staying still, being flattered by the breeze other people make

I really do wonder

I wonder if you are only a thought I had

Nothing grand like imagined, be it good or bad

I wonder if I knew the real you would I be sad?

You're not the wind or the thunder, you're just a lady who smiled with glad

I really do wonder

An idea from a mind that's odd

Or a dream that came from a sleepy nod

An image of a future that made the mind awed

In the end, you're just a human got mistaken for a god
