Vanilla Coffee

Vanilla Coffee

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

The tantalizing scent of vanilla coffee overpowers

The dark, emotionless little kitchen as I go about

Picking up the pieces of words dastardly broken

There is nothing that I want for oh but for you

Of the quiet hands and words that make me to

Laugh till tears come streaming down my cheek

I silence the thoughts depressed by quarrels and

Allow my soul to sway in the rhythm of the rhythmic

Falling of falling rain- soft, insistent, pure - as I

Pour myself a wee bit of the fragrant brew and

Close my eyes for to visit quite a different world

This was excellent. Your words reverberate the desperate quiescence of the scene in a most beautiful way. I especially enjoyed the "words dastardly broken" and "the rhythm of the rhythmic".
