The Honeybee and the TreeA Poem by A.A.Romanczuk“Salutations” buzzed the honeybee
To the greenly, weathered tree Immersed in her thoughts of morning And sigh she did to be faced with The freshness of his yellow beauty He bent to kiss his way up her tired limbs Lured by the last of her springly blossoms… Low and soft she moaned in pity “There be poison in my nectar- bitter blood- From a cracking, wilting heart " Drink Not” “Then, Dear, shall I come every day to Drink of it " Till You are made sweet” And from her bitterness gave he birth To sprawled universes of honey And gave he rise to her rebirth A glorious, dew-dropped renaissance Setting up his nest among her branches. © 2011 A.A.RomanczukFeatured Review
