Unspringly Spring

Unspringly Spring

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk
"

yes, i know unspringly is not a word...if e.e.cummings can use greenly...i can use unspringly :P

"

Oh selfish trees! Egotistical trees!

Clad in mocking bridal white

Courted by the amorous bees

I gaze at thee with No delight…

By yonder window do I stand

To dash my heart against the

Sparrow’s song sung for his mate…

Sinister double-edged sword!

And think of him from whom

I was torn……………………

there was someone once who made me lament the coming of spring for many years in succession . . . usually I look quizzically at poets who use Oh and thee and yonder in this modern age, but you pulled it off beautifully
