Mute and Blind

Mute and Blind

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

Her eyes were melancholy and bright
Like stars falling at the touch of sorrow
Sometimes they were like sailing ships
Lost on the horizon
Of aching thoughts and dreams
Sometimes they sparkled
With the brilliance of a thousand suns
Too often were they cast down
Her eyes...
Her eyes left him
Mute and blind

ohh so beautiful and enchanting..your eyes
like a thousand suns ,why i think they only shine for me
even on the most cloudy rainy of days i am reminded of the smile in your eyes
your eyes will lift the heaviest burdens off my chest and i come to see life so pretty ever again
how come you could do all that with only those few twinkles of eyes so bright like a strongest light coming a thousand miles
still i could not but look into them and embrace the lovely soul that i only could see..your eyes
lovely write..

oo brilliant imagery in this piece - I echo so what below - the "sailing ships" idea is inspired - those two lines make the poem for me

"Like stars falling at the touch of sorrow
Sometimes they were like sailing ships"

great poem!! and very well written!! nice!!

cinematic and romantic , images that spread across the heartscape and focus on the eyes

and again i'm impressed by your imagery. eyes "like sailing ships" is an absolutely delightful idea, one of the most beautiful descriptions i ever read.
the strange part about this poem was that when i started reading it, given the title, i first expected "her" to be the mute and blind one, emphasizing that way the beauty of "her" inner world. well, reality not being that, it's equally beautiful, painful in a different way and more romantic. focusing only on "her eyes" this feels only like a small gate towards an infinite world. loved it! :)
