FireA Poem by A.A.Romanczukwas at a loss for titleShe lay naked as the first woman In the arms of a weeping moon Blazing comets leaving trails of fire Trailing towards her womb Her mind churned restlessly Doting on a memory of His last word, last look, last touch She writhed in agony Burning, grieving, aching, yearning Not knowing He lay naked as the first man On another planet Burning, grieving, aching, yearning Doting on a memory of Her last word, last look, last touch He lay twisted, consumed by fire Wanting her who made him whole The goddess within her took pity Murmuring ancient incantations Conjured an ocean to douse the fire Which malignantly climbing ether to burn her Died instantly, bending at her feet Moving with the sensual fluidity of a cobra snake The goddess raised a child-like hand And smiling an incomprehensible smile Fluttered shut the woman's eyes And curling up like a cat, yawned Entirely bored. © 2011 A.A.RomanczukFeatured Review
