Awkward Silence

Awkward Silence

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

The words lie forgotten on my lips

I will never utter them

What purpose do they serve

If You refuse to understand them

Or accept them silently with no return

I wanted conversation

To feel the yearning of Your soul

For mine

I find

Awkward silence

ah!! the legendary debate - between words and silences - and those spaces in between - which one wins, no ones knows - but i think its those spaces in between that define it - and your poem here - it captures those spaces with perfection and brevity - brilliant!

In these few lines you fill it with the images and emotions of an unfulfilled relationship.. one that has drifted into oblivion.. How speaking or holding back can set the soul in motion.. Powerful words..
