TrappedA Poem by A.A.Romanczuk
Rain plagues the world outside
I am corsetted in By four white walls And tethered by coarse, tight ideals A scream of protest Lies lodged in my throat With the escape exit blocked I peer out the window Wanting to melt in the rain Wanting to disappear Nervous fingers type nervous words Sorrow primeval and deep Crushes a heart of mesh and lace I imagine true happiness I fail At Life Everything about me Doesn't correspond I try to fit in Only to stick out more And jagged rainbows Are tattoed on my face Am I cup of beauty Or a chalice of disgrace? © 2010 A.A.RomanczukFeatured Review
