Healed By NadliwieA Poem by A.A.RomanczukNadliwie is a small area in the country that is not too dreadfully far from Warsaw, which is the capital of Poland
She sat upon Nature's cushion, on the emerald green
Far outside the gates of home Outside the tethers of distraction And begged all thought away Rays of dancing sunlight streamed through The majestic evergreens She spoke with God Nay, her prayers were not of trifling words They consisted of breath and inner peace Her eyes looked with love on the rustling gold and green On the bright red berries and scurrying beetles On the fertile Polish earth Which was as much part of her as her body Was of it She shrank with disgust at the sight of A field spider's cunning web Until the Light opened her eyes How beautiful was the silken thread With crystallic dew like tears, glistening upon it How sad yet beauitful was the victim In his Death And how innocent, the spider, lying on his bed She began to observe his entire self How well had God fashioned him No creature could she hate now Seeing the perfection in every design It was neither good nor evil It simply was Just as she was neither good nor evil But simply was So she sat a moment longer Drinking in the air that smelt of the living blood Of trees as they shed their tears on open wounds And walked away pensive yet cheerful To the flowered meadows Where her heart soared with delight She walked in grasses Reaching to her Earth-nourishing breast And her fingers wove the grasses and flowers Into garlands and wreathes With which adorning herself Looked like the incarnation of Lada And man's best friend came trustingly And let himself be caressed by her hands and in unison they walked Up the steep rolling hill Towards house and home The birds would not cease singing Were I gone Nor the Earth, weep Thought she But how blessed am I To be a part of this And from that day Tried to tread carefully As not to disturb even the lowest creature And extended to all her love © 2010 A.A.RomanczukFeatured Review
