Sunset

Sunset

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

The sunset casts roses onto your skin

Shimmering like tawny silk

Every time the wind breathes

Salacious spring onto the earth

A pink rain of petals

Surrounds us

Cherry blossoms find repose

In our hair

Beautiful is too mundane a word

You are full of pulchritude

These words are a mouthful

Yet they still only

Scratch the surface

We only have fifteen minutes

No matter

I am already late

The moon is already hung

Upon a starlit sky

Soul-threads bind us together

In the silence

And the chatter

You say

Come my love

It is high time

I walk you

To your car.
