YesA Poem by A.A.Romanczuk
My footsteps carry me away from you, my heart
Toward mundane tasks, toward rooms empty of you Dark like the midnight velvet of the sky devoid of The sun, moon, and stars I have seen Armaggedon, yes My mirror, my heart It is when you press your heart to my lips And leave Oh, my footsteps...wretched... My footsteps carry me away from you Yet I carry your heart in my heart I have been nourished by the song Of your wild laughter, caught upon The darling dimples in your smile Did you know, my love, that I found Entire worlds nestled in your siren hips There, where I go like a devout pilgrim To worship, entranced by the esoteric scent Of your garden, to get drunk off of your blush And find myself purified, naked as a newborn's soul This is madness, you proclaim Could it be any other way, light of my life? I see God reclining in your jewelled eyes When your gaze reaches for mine See Him dancing through all That you do, my heart Taste paradise upon your lips All of creation In the nectar Of your hips This is madness, yes My mirror, yes My footsteps, yes They carry me away from you Tomorrow, yes My footsteps Will carry me, yes To you, yes And I will again, yes Gain the world. © 2015 A.A.RomanczukFeatured Review
