Heart-Words

Heart-Words

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

The noon skies lie dreaming in languid cornflower blue

Blossoming, ripening to the day’s bustling cacophony

I am wilting

Asphyxiating, imprisoned by strange stone walls

Left to pensively run my fingers across the wall-eyes

Restlessly bleeding heart-words

I hide the wounded gasp that lies trembling

In the transparent confines of my eyes

What a shift from the first couple of lines on the external ordinariness of just another day to the intense compression of the last few lines .. intense.
