KirahA Story by hildaarletteIf I was in Avatar, I imagine this is how I would learn how to earth bend. I sit cross crossed in between the canyons, feeling the
cool breeze hit my face as I begin concentrate on minerals in the ground. I let
out a soft sigh and say to myself, “You can do this.” I feel the damp dirt underneath
me and lift my hands to chest level. The wind around me begins to pick up as a
hole is left in ground. Rocks and soil being to intertwine as my heart starts
to race. A drop of sweat escapes from my temple when the bolder begins to form
in the sky. With all my might I try to keep it there, but I feel the energy
escaping me. Bits of rock being falling as I’m starting to lose control. I
stand up, holding my breath and squeezing my hands in hope of restoring my
creation. The bolder crumbles as I cover my face. I peak out from my hands to
see the disrupted environment. “You almost had it that time.” A familiar voice
says. I quickly turned around to find Master Maku a few feet away from me. “How
long has he been watching me?” I think. I turn back around to see the mess I
have made. “We should go back to the temple. Some meditation will do you good.” Maku says. I turn back to him and look him square in the eyes, “No. I can do
this, let’s go again.” I say. My spirit will not be broken. I will not rest
until I have mastered this skill. I begin to get lost in my thoughts when Maku says, “Kirah?” I look at him once again. “This time don’t forget to breath.” I
give him a devilish smile as I sit back down and begin to feel the damp dirt
underneath me. © 2021 hildaarletteAuthor's Note
