A Tear Drop From a cliff

A Tear Drop From a cliff

A Poem by Hikarutanjou
"

A life changing metaphorical stance on life and new beginnings.

"

I stood on a cliff,

Beneath me are the crashing waves.

I look straight out,

at the never-ending sea.

The rays of the sun begin to show,

casting an orange glow about the sky.

The sun peeks over the edge,

making the brilliant diamonds sparkle.

I have to squint now, if I want to see anything.

"This sunrise is similar to many, yet completely defferent"

The sight made me remember a figment of my past,

one of the many figments that make me who I am.

A nostalgic scene, A sad one.

There was no controlling it - I wept.

I let the tear drops fall from the cliff into the sea,

where my memories get washed away, far away.

I stood there and let the sea breeze flutter through my hair;

The smell of salt in the air grew stronger.

I look out, beyond the crashing waves, beyond the rising sun, beyond myself.

Then my thoughts went past everything that there ever was, or ever will be.

Every sunrise is a new beginning

This is very enjoyable to read and has that quality that all great poetry has. It's like a ball that is being passed between the reader and the writer informing, lines being filled in and words being shared. You have a very honest way of writing that I believe every word and this to me makes it very original. I especially like how the idea of each sunrise although each being a sunrise is the same is somehow completely unique is echoed throughout, as you saw this sunrise although it is different it reminded you of something former. Or how your thoughts extended from this time to the future as you saw past the horizon, as you became apart of everything as that memory would have done.

The ability to deal with ideas like this so deftly without complicating it is something special. Thank you for posting it.

This to me seems like a very professional poem. Its so good, I would think That you are ready to find a publisher... This had alot of depth to it, and I really enjoyed it. I also Like the Symbolism it contains. Its a job well done!
