Lessons to be learned

Lessons to be learned

A Poem by Vertigoingnowhere
"

something i wrote in history class

"

In my short time ive been living, ive come to learn a lot

so listen very closly to the lessons ive been taught

Ive learned that growing up is over rated and sad to go through

when we're little we want to grow then when we do we wish we could renew

ive learned its hard to be alone when we're alive

When i get by myself i feel scared and lost inside

but the hope that theres someone out there makes the dark seem bright.

Ive learned that life is the hardest thing we'll ever go through

the pain we feel, but the picture we paint, comes with a reward like getting a tattoo

Ive learned i have to fight for what i belive in to stay alive

and all this ive realized

is just a few things ive found out about life

but i feel i will never understand the reason why

We want to know what happens after we eventually die

I guess we'll just have to find out when the time is right

My learning is certainly not done

My lessons have only just begun

Your last two lines say it all: ' My learning is certainly not done ~ My lessons have only just begun '. And believe me, it's not just learning that matters but what to do with that learning, for using it wisely, carefully, kindly. Looking back I realise that the worse thing about living life is wasting seconds crying over spilled milk and being afraid to move on, everything is an education. Seems you already know that, your words are pretty well on the ball but don't be afraid, fear's a killer!

Fine writing, fine thinking.

It seems like History class was just the right muse to inspire some very truthful wisdom's to flow onto the page. Life teaches it's lessons to us, when and wherever it will, while we are simply along for the ride. It's good to record them, in poetry or prose, for one never knows, if other will find it useful down the road.

Great Ink!

You should be listening in history class, not writing poems! lol

Ah hell, write poems, they are probably teaching revised history anyway ;)

Wow...you are just 16 and you learned so many things. When I was your age, in my time, everything was so different! I love the way now teenagers grow up. Maybe I would not agree with some things, but the world now is so big and full of attractions.
Yes dear, your lessons just began...and do not try to rush. Live a day of a time...do not be in a hurry.
(((((hugs)))))
