Fuckery

Fuckery

A Poem by Vertigoingnowhere

I am just like anyone else.

Cut me and I bleed

Slap me and my face will turn red.

I have feelings too you know.

I’m not bulletproof.

I’m not indestructible.

I break down and cry my eyes out over pointless s**t.

Why?

Because that’s what I'm supposed to do.

I’m supposed to get bruised, broken and bitchy.

I have the right.

To feel uncomfortable

To feel afraid

I have the right to feel however the hell I want

I’m sorry you can’t see what I’m trying to do

I’m trying to be what I’ve never really had

But hey, be selfish, I guess that’s your right.

It may not be right, but you have the right

I’ll still be here though,

Why?

Because I choose to

Because I have the right

Until then, you can do whatever you want

I don’t really care

You can go f**k yourself

But if you come back, ill dust you off and carry conversation

Have a nice life, if that’s possible.

This is really good, and besides the fact that swearing is against my religion, I love it!

Strong expression. It captures how we are so often. But I think that to to give to others is what ennobles our lives, with random acts of kindness benefiting us all. Focusing on our self seems limiting.
