Standing Alone, In The Pouring Rain, Dear

Standing Alone, In The Pouring Rain, Dear

A Poem by Vertigoingnowhere

I stand alone in the rain

Not to morn the lost or the feel the pain

I feel the cold, wet, drops that glisten in the moonlight, hit my face

I'm not a depressed soul or a broken grace

I'm not some lonely little girl in a huge messed up universe

I am a girl who always sees the best in people after i've seen their worst

I am a girl who is damaged, not tragically cursed

I feel others pain very easily

I am not a selfish wanna be

Or trapped in a cave, could be

I never give up on people, even if all hope is lost

I believe there is good in everyone,

that their goodness should be voiced, no matter the cost

So if you ever see me standing alone, watching it pour

All i want to for you to stand with me, loving the rain, forever more

So please boy, dont see me as just broken

I'm more then just alive, hear my words, i have spoken

you have a voice in this life and , even more important, you have chosen to record that voice in poetry for all the ages. you have a gift, use it often and later in life it may well be your spiritual rescue, if not only for your own piece of mind, and a gift to others. very nice write...polish the grammar a bit and it will be perfect

A amazing poem. The strong description took the reader to the rain and deep thoughts. I like the description of emotion and the ending. No weakness in the excellent poetry.

I must agree with eatmills, there has been growth from what i have first read of yours...do keep it up because this is very good.

I would only suggest some formatting and an edit or two.

What an incredible piece you have written, aside from the third last line which probably should have been written "All I want for you is to..." I have seen great growth in your wrting. Keep at it.

nice poem, I am never quite sure whether acute empathy is a blessing or a curse, maybe a bit of both, but it surely brings much beauty to life. A topic dear of mine... nicely spoken
