I plan to categorize by area of application eventually.

"A" is one, "A couple" is two, "A few" means three and "A bunch" is more.

"it's a long story" implies "it's" something the speaker would not like to discuss

"I don't want to talk about it" means the speaker is not quite sure and or hurting but hopes you will take responsibility for whatever comes from the exploration of "it"
