I absolutely love this! Personally I find the creativeness sublime. What talent to take a little can that has sat in so many lives and give it voice. The can that has held the quill of the poet who with never a thought to this faitful conveyance spills the blood of their heart across paper then callously drops the spent scribe int it.
"So raise your hands if you're all wrong in the right ways..." That Pink song filled my head reading this. By the way Iam raising both hands with pride.
I enjoyed reading this poem because it sounded like it was written from an experienced, knowledgable, well-versed writer. Which is who you truly are. This poem was not pretentious, written carefully, and picked and crafted well-thought phrases meticulously. There was not cliches remnant in your poem. Also, every item you listed seemed original yet familiar. The poem had the well-known smell of nostalgia. The scent of adventure, wonder, and innocence that comes with childhood. That’s how I read it. The poem also has a vague yet beautifully crafted conclusion. What does the mint flower represent. I don’t know but that is up to the reader! It was truely a beautiful poem that I would not be surprised to see in my poetry anthology book. I’m very impressed. Great job, this was fantastic. I have so much to learn. All my poems combined pale in comparison to this simple yet intricate poem.
It is a pretty fun little ditty. The font is pretty cool, I can't say that I have ever seen it on here before. It almost looks like lines from a pencil. The poem reminds me of another poem called "To be of Use" by Marge Piercy
