I'm just a tin can

I'm just a tin can

A Poem by Muse

I'm just a tin can.
I'm telling you....
it was not part of my plan.
Tobacco chew,
with gum from your shoe,
caterpillars,
pencils,
left-handed scissors,
snails,
nails,
and yesterdays mail,
car keys,
bees,
the sand and the breeze,
mushy pears,
chocolate eclair,
now I hold a mint flower;
once placed in your hair.

I absolutely love this! Personally I find the creativeness sublime. What talent to take a little can that has sat in so many lives and give it voice. The can that has held the quill of the poet who with never a thought to this faitful conveyance spills the blood of their heart across paper then callously drops the spent scribe int it.

Ah the little tin can! I just love this!

interesting and very original. most don't think about the tin can and where it's been or what it's seen, but you have gained beautiful inspiration from a seemingly discarded object. a new application to the saying, one man's trash is another's treasure. well done :)

Thank you. This writing taught me to never again take for granted any mundane object.

That's actually a great Muse - writing for something that has no voice, even if it is "just" a can. .. read more

It's sweet and subtle. And it has superior quality. It's far from your usual poetry but it is the kind of poetry I would like to read. Pretty:)

I think this is amazing.
So simple, and so fun.
I will most certainly be reading more of your stuff.

i think the tin can is happy now...flowers instead of tobacco chew...

i know you said something short and fun...but i see something a bit deeper....

i see a speaker who feels he or she has been used for so long by others, but now finally feels the love...the bouquet of love resting within the crevasse of his or her heart.

the mint semi-colon has a nice scent...i would keep it also.

"flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere"
including in my tin can heart.

you are really good, my friend.

what pictures you paint.

really delightful.... like a list of favourite things that cheer you up.... but more than that are the images, the feelings, the sounds associated with those words... they create an internal lyricism that just sings with poetry... big smile at the mushy pears.... so very endearing... marvelous piece.

This was refreshing! I can't believe I missed this when you first posted it. It's fun and seems a little quirky, but it works. This just embraces the true essence of summer for me somehow. Like a cool glass of lemonade on a hot day.
Bravo to you!
