"We The People"

"We The People"

A Poem by Muse
"

Wake up sheeple!

"
We The People getting raped and bullied down
So many without a job, so many wearing a frown
Presidents, lawmakers, and cheaters sit up high
Wiping their asses with our blood stained money
Vacationing, drinking, dancing and parading a crown.

Many of you worship a counterfeit of a man
So smart, he needs a teleprompter to talk the talk
Still waiting I am for him to walk the walk
I don't care if my thoughts are not your own
We each have the freedom to make our voices known.

Pay attention and wake the hell up all of you
Damn you if you think this does not affect what you do
Our forefathers are rolling over in their graves
Our Bill of Rights is hitting the shredder
How in hell will this make our lives better!

Amazingly, politics are so similar from country to country that this is relatable. I could tell you horror stories about our province, and wrote a couple poems like this myself now and again. Democracy really is a "lessor of the evils" sort of game, and for some reason the smart people are always on the wrong side of the vote.

I have felt this way, what can we possibly do after the rant, own a business? where will the resources come from?

Jobs have been taken to other less fortunate countries that do not live as lavishly as we do - we want good things but can't afford them without getting into debt to keep up with appearances

The ironic situation is that our public school system at one point was allowing students to pass without the grasp of hard work

I worked my butt off in another country and learned so much more but here, here, the lessons were elementary - being trained to learn becomes a job - unmotivated children grow up to unmotivated adults

how will they work hard and get us out of this when we are looking for a business owner to succeed and give us a steady paycheck on their risk

I'm not one to talk politics, but your poem was quite impressive, vocal, and dynamic. I like the fact that you spoke your mind, no watering anything down for other people. Good Job!

You know, I don't go out of my way to keep up on politics, but I always appreciate poetry that calls it out on its bullshit.
