Food is food

Food is food

A Poem by Hickory Dickory

Food is food and water is water,
But water is not food.

A snacks a snack and ice is ice,
But ice is not a snack.

Dinner is dinner and gum is gum,
But gum is not dinner.

Unfortunately.

Food is for staying alive and starving will kill you,
But what if you don’t care?

Sunny days and rainy days,
But one thing won’t change.
The feeling of hunger deep in your stomach,
A reminder that you are indeed strange.

How could a person like to feel empty,
Enjoying the pain of not eating?
Sometimes a person will get stuck in a pattern,
Or find another way of bleeding.

Days
Pass
By.

And you get sicker and sicker,
Sicker and sicker.
But now you’re almost there.

The scale has broken,
Along with your heart,
Neither of which will repair.
