A Rainy Day

A Rainy Day

A Poem by Hickory Dickory

Once upon a rainy day,
I dreamed my body would decay.
I dreamed the noises quiet down,
I dreamed a soaking, bloodstained gown.

I then woke up with most despair,
Realizing what I had left there.
For no more laughter could be heard,
No more chirping of the bird.

For now, here I am and here I'll stay,
Longing now to fly away.
But once again I shall not leave,
For my sister'll be the one to grieve.

So now I'm here, and here I'll stay,
Dreaming on
A
Rainy
Day.
