Flames

Flames

A Poem by hicheckmeout

One fine day

Will find us

In each other's way.

Seeing you with him

I won’t act mean.

I’ll ask “How have you been

All this while?”

I promise, I’ll pretend,

That you are just a friend.

Beneath the veil,

The sirens will wail

As a raging fire burns my heart to ashes.

Dejected and forlorn,

I will be left

Wishing a phoenix is born.
