Untitled II

Untitled II

A Poem by Heather Hassell

When I was eleven,

   I wanted to be thirteen.

When I was thirteen,

   I wanted to be sixteen.

When I was sixteen,

   I wanted to be eighteen.

When I became eighteen,

   I wanted to be nothing.

Now I am nineteen,

   And I am nothing.

Now I am nineteen,

   And that's not good enough.

This poem has that idea of wishing to be older and older, but the older you get, the more responsibilities you have, and the leas appealing things got. Once you graduate from high school then college comes around and so does more and more work, plus school. Makes me miss back when I was young and all I had to worry about was having fun and coloring for hw. Anyway, this was an enjoyable read :) Nice work!
