A Poem by Hannah Louise

When the light has left your eyes,

And there are no more goodbyes,

Only empty promises and lies,

I turn and look to the skies,

To dreams and starry eyed spies,

Of another world and what could be,

People I’d meet and places I’d see,

As long as you’re there with me,

In the dark even I can see its beauty,

And yet, reality is a powerful thing,

And we’re not ever really living,

Only walking the road of the dying.
