I Love My Pet

I Love My Pet

A Poem by Tony Hwilka
"

For Helen's poetry contest

"

At night I let my pet the moon

Run freely into the sky meadow

To dance with fireflies of the night

Feed on shadows lurking earth

Drink from oceans - seas or lakes

With stomach full he looks his best

With happy thoughts and shining bright

He finds a spot of space to rest the night

A smile so large he mirrors the sun

Warms my heart and I --

I love my pet

In the land of poetry I've been very luckly. I have had my own poetry show on radio station WTTM Trenton N.J. reading my poetry from 1982 -- 1990. Was president of the Southern Poets of N.J. and still.. more..
