My Saddness Sleeps

My Saddness Sleeps

A Poem by Tony Hwilka

Who am I to cry

Now that we are parted

Given time

Pain will subside

Memories

of yesterday's dreams

Vanish

An eminent hush

Surrounds my thoughts

And from this moment

I sleep alone

This simple, but deeply profound and easily relate able.

I love these lines
"Who am I to cry
Now that we are parted
Given time
Pain will subside

Heartbreakingly sad and lonely write. The emotions portrayed are simple yet the reader can certainly identify with them. At least I do.

Lonely ink! Great job!
