First DateA Poem by Tony HwilkaHere I am almost eighteen -- a virgin and a date with the sexiest girl in school come Friday -- Prom night -- why me? Because she asked. I have no idea what to do. I can't ask my mom, dad said I needed a handbook. It has been so long he can't remember. Now where in the world do I get a handbook? I can't ask my friends since I taked as I knew.
Friday morning I was walking along Main Street. Stopped in a bookstore. It was very small and cluttered. I was embarrassed to ask the female clerk so I helped myself. All I could find was Reproduction of Gorillas. I bought the book. Went to school and read each chance I could. But to no avail.
I prayed to God for help, rang the bell, her father anwered the door. Looked me over asked some questions -- said she would be right down. She appeared on the stairs, what a sight, an angel in bright lights. She stepped forward, missed the step and rolled all the way down. Lying on the floor with a broken leg, we rush to the hospital. Me! I'm a virgin for another day.
