A Poem by Tony Hwilka

A mute calcium ghost

     Observes silently

My left hand nervously

Rubbing chin -- agape

The drapes of night envelope

       The day -- all night

Transforming children to

Ghoulish -- goulash -- gourd

My  mind intersperes

Gory tales of witches

       Knees nestled

Wipping brooms

Agitating wintry breeze

       Chills skin

Cries of werewolves

Goblins from the trees

Knock -- knocks on the door

My heart erratically beats

      Beats with fright

Appalled I bequeath

Fruit -- candy -- and more

Please Ocober 31st

Please leave my door.
