Death

Death

A Poem by Tony Hwilka

You have come twice this year

              knocking at my door

Not to mention years gone by

I know in time

              you will consume me

I beg you --No! No!

Can I entice you to go away

Allow me to complete my quest

Then I will come

             embrace you with love

oh ,i like that ,you know i always liked writing that speak with these things that both dazzle us and we stand stupified against them as we can do nothing ,i talk to death and life and fate since i know nothing about its like a paradox and so it looks wonderful and poetic talking to them imploring to them to be a little friendly and have some manners, and treat us with a little more respect,i loved this really

In the land of poetry I've been very luckly. I have had my own poetry show on radio station WTTM Trenton N.J. reading my poetry from 1982 -- 1990. Was president of the Southern Poets of N.J. and still.. more..
