Lazy Day

Lazy Day

A Poem by Tony Hwilka

Today is a day

for writing

My fingers itch

to begin

But I stare

hour after hour

at the paper

occasionally at the pen

A silent voice

inside my head

whispers encouragement

while outside

among purple

red and yellow tulips

a young robin

tugs with breakfast

The sun

pinnacles the universe

I shall write

tomorrow

About
In the land of poetry I've been very luckly. I have had my own poetry show on radio station WTTM Trenton N.J. reading my poetry from 1982 -- 1990. Was president of the Southern Poets of N.J. and still.. more..
